“Caring for Caregivers” meeting

at First United Methodist Church in Hudson

Based on the success of our “Caring for Caregivers” meetings, held on the first Monday evening of the month, First United Methodist church, 34 Felton Street in Hudson, is now pleased to offer another Caregivers meeting on the first Monday morning of the month, in addition to the ongoing evening meeting.

Please join “Caring for Caregivers” on the first Monday of each month, starting February 6th, in the morning at 11:00 am or in the evening at 7:00pm.  We meet for an hour or so, on the first floor of the church in Lamson Hall.  We are handicap accessible.

The church has recognized a yearning by caregivers in the community, for a place to gather, intended for anyone who needs a break and wants to be with others going through difficult times caring for their loved ones.   Our purpose is to establish a safe, quiet setting for those who are feeling the weight that often accompanies caregiving.  Caregivers often feel alone, isolated and unique.  We can’t solve problems or change a situation but we will offer support by encouraging each other to not feel weak, selfish or unloving, because of our thoughts.  We offer a place to talk, vent, cry, even laugh, or to just be still and listen.

Come share your concerns and feelings with those who know what you are going through.  We will not be judgmental; only attentive and compassionate.  You may come to as few or as many of our meetings as you wish.  The meetings are open to anyone who is a caregiver.  You may come just to listen but over time, we hope you’ll feel free to talk about your thoughts and concerns.  There are no dues or fees to think about, just come and be with us for an hour or so.

First United Methodist Church is located over the hill, just off the Hudson Rotary at 34 Felton Street.
